薄樱鬼即指土方岁三。此名为游戏土方线结尾土方与风间决战前风间所起。薄樱意为如樱花般绚烂而又转瞬即逝；鬼则指土方身为人类，却始终坚持贯彻自身信念，高洁之心令人钦佩，拥有能与鬼族平起平坐的强大实力与内心（风间是鬼族，一直对自己的鬼族身份感到骄傲，视罗刹为不伦不类的“伪物”）。其实新选组众成员又有哪个不是如此呢？
风间千景原话如下：
风间千景：“汝等终将匆匆飘散，宛若逝樱。‘罗刹’，此伪物之名与汝已不相称，为表敬意，赐汝鬼之名。”
风间千景：“……薄樱鬼。”

妖狐X仆SS
本作故事讲述了女主角──白鬼院大财阀的大小姐白鬼院凛々蝶因为总是无意义虚张声势而使事情变得越来越糟糕，十分懊恼的她决定一个人生活，之后搬进了被称作鬼屋的豪华SS公寓。这栋公寓俗称「妖馆」，拥有最高的安全性，而SS指的是secret service保镖，也就是公寓中关键的存在了。在那里凛々蝶遇到了身为其保镖的御狐神双炽，生活上无微不至，后来还遇到了几位看上去性格各异的保镖。某晚凛々蝶遭到强盗袭击，也因为这个契机，也了解了这里的安全措施并不是针对普通人而言，一些祖先与妖怪交合而使得产生返祖现象的人所组成。同时这件事也使得凛々蝶更加去接受御狐神双炽，使其在自己身边。就这样，在这栋公寓的生活拉开了帷幕[1]……作品中不失笑点等成分，形形色色的角色也让整部作品增添了不少看点。
